New Jersey Synod Mission Fair

Miriam Confer and Sharla Delawter participated in the New Jersey Synod Mission Fair in Ewing on Saturday, June 4.  At their GLBT table, you could read Bible texts of inclusion of all of God's children, get a rainbow tattoo, and eat rainbow jelly beans.   The Rev. Bruce Davidson came by to help with the tattoos and the good fellowship.

Interfaith Dialog Center

St. Paul's welcomed the folks from the Interfaith Dialog Center on Sunday March 13. The IDC are members of the Turkish American community who promote friendship and peace. This group, led by Dr. Levent Koc, brought us delicacies from their homeland, festive music, and the opportunity to get to know each other better!

Pastor Gary's 50th Birthday

We celebrated Pastor Gary's fiftieth birthday.  Gladys Hodge prepared some southern home cooking, the Red Hat Society made him an honorary member!  Happy Birthday, Pastor!

St. Paul's 85th Anniversary Celebration

Thanks to everyone who made our eighty-fifth Anniversary November 14 such a great occasion.  Thanks to Pastor Davidson for preaching, and to Elaine and Gladys for planning the luncheon at Rudy's in Hackensack.

Wayne Olsen Becomes Diaconal Minister, July 2009

St. Paul's own Wayne Olsen recently graduated from Diakonia, and is now a Diaconal Minister.  Here's a photo from the graduation which was held at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Aberdeen NJ on June 13th.

Walk-In Dinner Program of the Inter Religious Fellowship for the Homeless of Bergen County

Pictures taken while preparing the "Walk-In Dinner" on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17, 2009. The Walk-In Dinner is provided by a different congregation or organization every night of the year and is coordinated by the Inter-Religious Fellowship for the Homeless of Bergen County. Usually between 75 and 110 people take part. Everyone is welcome, no questions asked!

Photos taken at the annual "Yearning to Breathe Free" march and demonstration outside the Immigrant Detention Center in Elizabeth, sponsored by IRATE. It was a very moving ceremony and one of the best attended. We pry this public attention will help our country's decision makers focus on improving conditions for the people being held there, and that in time we will have Comprehensive Immigration Reform that values family and treats each human being as a Child of God.

Ray & Arlene Pearson Renew Vows, February 17, 2008

Ray and Arlene Pearson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows on Sunday, February 17th. Paster LeCroy officiated alongside Pastor Robert Kriesat, former Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, where the Pearsons (and many St. Paul's members) were members.
